BMW and Mini sales rise 23% in UAE

Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Motors, exclusive importer for BMW, BMW Alpina, Mini and Rolls-Royce in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, has reported a 23 per cent increase in BMW and Mini sales for the first six months of 2006, compared to the same period in 2005. In addition, BMW used car sales increased by 27 per cent over 2005.

Achieving excellent growth in sales Abu Dhabi Motors maintained its third position in the region's overall sales volume, delivering 1,017 vehicles in comparison to last year's 828 for the same period. The BMW 7 Series saw the highest growth and was the highest selling model, achieving an 85 per cent increase over the same period last year, followed by BMW 5 Series, BMW X5 and BMW 3 Series.

Largest in Mideast

Arno Husselmann, General Manager, Abu Dhabi Motors said: "We have one of the highest market shares in the region when it comes to the premium car segment and we aim to maintain that level."

"This year, Abu Dhabi Motors will also begin the multi-million dollar expansion of the Umm Al Nar showroom and after sales facilities, so creating the largest BMW showroom in the Middle East, concluded Husselmann.
